Mr. Surapong Piyachote, Deputy Minister of Transport presided over the launching ceremony of the connecting walkway between Seacon Square and Suan Luang Rama IX Station (YL15) at Entrance 1 of Suan Luang Rama IX Station (YL15). The ceremony was attended by Mr. Montri Tungcharoenthavorn, Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr. Pichet Kunathamaraks, Director-General of the Department of Rail Transport, Mr. Vithaya Punmongkol, Deputy Governor (Operations), Acting Governor of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), Mr. Kittikorm Tanpao, Deputy Governor (Engineering and Construction) of MRTA, Mr. Surapong Laoha-Unya, Director of Eastern Bangkok Monorail Co., Ltd., and Mr. Prote Sosothikul,  Vice President of Operation Group, Seacon Development Plc.

          The Deputy Minister said that the Ministry of Transport has combined the forces of government and private agencies to connect the mass rapid transit system network with other transportation systems and popular destinations in order to facilitate and encourage people living in urban areas to choose mass rapid transit as their primary transportation option to alleviate traffic problems and reduce air pollution, and sustainably improve the quality of the environment and people’s quality of life, in accordance with the policy of “Transport for Thailand’s Opportunity”. The opening of the connecting walkway between Seacon Square and the MRT Yellow Line is one of the collaborations between the government and private sectors that realize the importance of connectivity, allowing people to conveniently travel from Entrance 1 on the 2nd floor of Suan Luang Rama IX Station (YL15) to the 3rd floor of Seacon Square and nearby locations.
