MRTA together with Chulalongkorn University organizes activities to present research results on the use of AI to detect, warn, and prevent MRT right of way intrusion in order to raise the level of security in the MRT system area

According to the government and Ministry of Transport have provided policies related to research and development of technology and innovation, focusing on the use of AI (Artificial Intelligent) systems as a tool for developing infrastructure to improve public services, in response to such policies, in fiscal year 2024, MRTA and Chulalongkorn University Academic Service Center, Chulalongkorn University, have jointly conducted a research study on the topic of "Development of an AI system to detect, warn, and prevent MRT right of way intrusion". The main objectives are to assess risk of intrusion in MRT system area and to develop a detection and alert system using AI technology to detect, analyze and classify intrusion incidents in the risk areas. The system developed by MRTA and Chulalongkorn University can be used as a tool to support operations in maintaining the right of way, inspecting and maintaining security, and maintaining peace and order to reduce direct and indirect impacts on MRTA and people in the area near the MRT system.
