MRTA visits the construction site to inspect safety measures the MRT Pink Line Extension Project and the MRT Purple Line Project, instructing the consulting company and concessionaires/civil contractors to keep the project construction standards for building confidence from the public

Tanpao, Deputy Governor (Engineering and Construction) as Chairman of Supervisory Committee for Monitoring and
Compliance with Environmental Measures for the MRT Purple
Line Project: Tao Pun – Rat Burana (Kanchanapisek Road) Section, visited the construction
site to inspect safety measures, traffic management, and measures to reduce the
environmental impact of the MRT project, which is one of the issues that Mr. Suriya Jungrungreangkit,
Minister of Transport and Mr. Surapong Piyachote, Deputy
Minister of Transport, has always given importance and instructed MRTA to
emphasize strictly supervising the operations of
concessionaires/contractors.
MRTA
and the Committee have inspected operations in the construction site of MT01
Muang Thong Thani Station of the MRT Pink Line Extension Project:
Si Rat Station - Muang Thong Thani Section, in order to
follow up on solutions to the case of liquid concrete falling on cars of road
travelers which the concessionaire has taken lessons learned and created
measures to prevent this from happening again, such as installation of two
layers netting to prevent falling materials and tarpaulin to prevent falling
wet concrete, providing lookouts and emergency teams below while working. Later, they moved to Industrial Ring Road area to inspect the
construction site of elevated structure between Rat Burana Station an Phra
Pradeang Station of the MRT Purple Line Project: Tao Pun – Rat Burana (Kanchanapisek Road) Section, focusing on inspecting work at height, installation
of crane pads, fall guards, stairs with stable handrails, attachment of
scaffolding structures, including various equipment, to be stable, strong and safe
for both workers and road users.
The
MRTA Acting Governor has emphasized to the consulting company group, the concessionaires/civil contractors of the two projects the
importance of controlling construction standards with maximum safety. He urged both projects to control the quality of the
materials, equipment and technology used, including providing training and
supervising the work in every step of every worker to comply
with safety standards as prescribed in contractual requirements and related
laws, due to the MRT Pink Line Extension Project and the MRT Purple Line
Project are large projects constructed on public roads. If there is an incident related to safety in any part, it will
inevitably affect people's confidence in the project.
