On November 30, 2023, Mr. Surapong Piyachote along with Miss. Napattra Kamonraksa, Assistant Secretary to the Minister of Transport; Mr.Chirute Visalachitra, Director General of the Department of Land Transport, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administration); and Mr. Pichet kunathamaraks Director-General of the Department of Rail Transport (DRT) tested EMV Contactless system to inspect an implementation of the measure for the maximum 20 baht fare rate throughout the line, Phase 2, by using EMV Contactless cards transferring between the M.R.T. Chalong Ratchadham Line (MRT Purple Line) - Nakhon Withi Line (Red Line). They were welcomed by Mr. Pakapong Sirikantaramas, Governor of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA); Mr Niruj Maneepun, Governor of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT); Mr. Sutep Punthupeng, Chief Executive Officer, S.R.T. Electrified Train Company Limited; Mr. Kitipong Muttamara, Assistant Vice President - Retail Banking Product & Strategy Group, Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited at Bang Son Station, the interchange station between the 2 lines.
