Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha rides the trial run of the MRT Pink Line’s train from Min Buri Station to Government Complex Station

On July 10, 2023, General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister boarded the train on the trial run of the MRT Pink Lines train from Min Buri Station (PK30) to Government Complex Station (PK12) and inspected the interchange with the MRT Orange Line at Min Buri Station. He was welcomed by General Anupong Paochinda, Minister of Interior, Mr. Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, Prime Minister's Office Minister, Mr. Atirat Ratanasate, Deputy Minister of Transport and Acting Minister of Transport, Mr. Chayatan Phromsorn, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Transport, Mr. Pakapong Sirikantaramas, Governor of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), and Mr. Keeree Kanjanapas, Chairman of Northern Bangkok Monorail Company (NBM). The operation system works smoothly along the trial run route.

Mr. Pakapong Sirikantaramas, Governor of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand revealed that the Cabinet meeting on May 29, 2016 approved the Ministry of transport by Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand to implement the MRT Pink Line Project: Khae Rai – Min Buri Section. MRTA and NBM, the concessionaire, signed a concession contract for design, civil works, M&E systems and rolling stock, and O&M services of the MRT Pink Line on June 16,  2017, and commenced Phase 1 Work, civil work production and installation M&E system works since June 29, 2018. MRTA supervised the implementation of the concessionaire, including all periods of operation testing to check the availability of the systems. The trial run of the project is scheduled to gradually open for public by the end of 2023 until 30 stations by considering the availability of each station operation and the safety of passenger. The project is planned to commence the revenue service within June 2024.
