MRTA and Royal Thai Navy sign MOU on the cooperation in the use of state property in Somdech Phra Pinklao Hospital, Naval Medical Department, Royal Thai Navy for the construction of Entrance 3 of Samre Station, the MRT Purple Line Project: Tao Pun - Rat Burana (Kanchanapisek Road) Section and an underground walkway to facilitate travel from the station to the hospital.

Mr. Pakapong Sirikantaramas, Governor of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand, and Vice Admiral Choltorn Suwankitti, Surgeon General, Naval Medical Department signed MOU on the cooperation in the use of state property in Somdech Phra Pinklao Hospital, Naval Medical Department, Royal Thai Navy for construction of Entrance 3 of Samre Station, the MRT Purple Line Project: Tao Pun - Rat Burana (Kanchanapisek Road) Section at Somdech Phra Pinklao Hospital, Naval Medical Department. It aims to facilitate users of MRT and Somdech Phra Pinklao Hospital, Naval Medical Department to benefit the public by the full potential of government project.
Mr. Pakapong Sirikantaramas, Governor of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), said that “the signing of the MOU between MRTA and Royal Thai Navy is an important milestone in the construction of the MRT Purple Line Project. Throughout the time, MRTA has cooperated with Royal Thai Navy in the detailed design and area utilization of Somdech Phra Pinklao Hospital, Naval Medical Department to achieve the maximum benefit. MRTA would like to thank Royal Thai Navy for allowing MRTA to use the area in front of the hospital for the construction of the Entrance 3 of Samre Station for the benefit of public travel. In addition, MRTA will construct an underground walkway to connect a concourse level of Samre Station with the front of and the underground parking lots of the Outpatient Department (OPD) Building, which will facilitate the users of the MRT and the hospital to conveniently access the building and MRTA will also adjust the landscape of the construction area upon completion of the project”.
Samre Station is the last underground station of the MRT Purple Line Project: Tao Pun - Rat Burana (Kanchanapisek Road) Section. The station has a central platform station, concourse level, platform level, and 4 entrances. MRTA will implement the project in accordance with the MOU to achieve the progress as plan without affecting the hospital’s operation, construction operation, and the future operation of MRT system.
