MRTA signs project management and construction supervision consultant contracts for the MRT Purple Line Project: Tao Pun – Rat Burana (Kanchanapisek Road) Section

On June 1, 2022, Mr. Pakapong Sirikantaramas, Governor of Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) presided over the signing ceremony of project management and construction supervision consultant contracts for the MRT Purple Line Project: Tao Pun Rat Burana (Kanchanapisek Road) Section between MRTA and three project management and construction supervision consultant consortiums at Conference Room 2, MRTA Office Building.

Details of three project management and construction supervision consultant consortiums for the MRT Purple Line Project: Tao Pun Rat Burana (Kanchanapisek Road) Section are as follows:

  1. 1. Project Management and Construction Supervision Consultant 1: PMCSC1 consists of 1) MAA Consultants Co., Ltd., 2) Index International Group PCL., 3) PSK Consultants Co., Ltd., 4) PPSN Co., Ltd., and 5) SEA Consult Engineering Co., Ltd., contract price of 1,094,110,096.00 Baht (inclusive 7% vat).
  2. 2. Project Management and Construction Supervision Consultant 2: PMCSC2 consists of 1) Asian Engineering Consultants Corp., Ltd., 2) Tesco Ltd., 3) Utility Design Consultants Co., Ltd., 4) IT International Co.,Ltd., 5) Project Planning Services PLC., and 6) Integrated Engineering Consultants Co.,Ltd., contract price of 959,458,300.00 Baht (inclusive 7% vat).
  3. 3. Project Management and Construction Supervision Consultant 3: PMCSC3 consists of 1) Chotichinda Consultants Co., Ltd., 2) Wisit Engineering Consultants Co.,Ltd., and 3) IT International Co.,Ltd., contract price 561,043,800.00 Baht (inclusive 7% vat).

The three PMCSC consortiums will be responsible for the project construction management to be in accordance with the terms of the contract.

On this occasion, the signing ceremony of Integrity Pact for the MRT Purple Line
Project: Tao Pun Rat Burana (Kanchanaphisek Road) Section between MRTA, the three PMCSC consortiums, and observer were held to express the intention to implement the MRT Project with transparency, fairness and free from corruption, for the maximum benefit of the nation and the people according to policies of government and Ministry of Transport.

For Project Implementation Consultant: PIC, the consultancy work committee by the Selection method for the MRT Purple Line Project: Tao Pun Rat Burana (Kanchanaphisek Road) Section considered the proposals and it turned out that no proposals met the criteria. Therefore, MRTA will conduct a new procurement by the selection method in accordance with related laws, rules, and regulations.

The three PMCSC consortiums are ready and able to start working immediately to be in line with the civil work operations of the six civil work contractors which received Notice
to Proceed letter from the MRTA since April 25, 2022. The MRT Purple Line Project: Tao Pun Rat Burana (Kanchanaphisek Road) Section plans to start construction in June 2022 and is scheduled to launch service in 2027.
