MRTA orders contractors to dredge drainpipe and ditches along the MRT Orange Line Project: Thailand Cultural Centre – Min Buri (Suwinthawong) Section to increase the efficiency of the drainage system

Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) as the agency responsible for the construction of the MRT Orange Line Project: Thailand Cultural Centre Min Buri (Suwinthawong) Section has monitored construction sites along Ramkhamhaeng Road during rainy season and assigned the civil works contractors to dredge drainpipes and ditches along the project route to prepare for the effect of tropical depression and increase the efficiency of the drainage system. Therefore, Italian-Thai Public Company Limited, a contractor of Contract 3: Underground Civil Works: Hua Mak Khlong Ban Ma Section dredged drainpipes along Ramkhamhaeng Road in construction areas of Yaek Lam Sali, Sri Burapha, and Khlong Ban Ma stations to prevent construction debris from clogging and alleviate flooding on Ramkhamhaeng Road.

Moreover, MRTA emphasized that projects consultants must control the contractors to continuously dredge drainpipe every 3 months and to monitor and prepare staff and water pumps for assisting people in accordance with the social responsibility policy in giving importance to people and communities along the MRT lines that may be affected by its construction operations.
